Remember that Acer’s 4.8-inch Android smartphone we’ve seen back in November 2010? Well it’s inching toward AT&T’s portfolio with FCC getting this bad boy to test it out prior to giving it a stamp of approval.

The so called Acer Iconia Smart is said to come with a huge 4.8-inch 1024×480 pixels display making it kinda bulky to carry around. Rest of the specs include Qualcomm’s single-core 1GHz MSM8255 processor, 512 MB of RAM and ROM, 8-megapixel camera with auto-focus and LED flash, 2-megapixel camera on the front (for video calls), HDMI output, HSPA (850, 1900 and 2100 MHz) and Wi-Fi connectivity, and a decent 1500mAh battery.

Acer is still quiet about the release date and we can only hope they (and AT&T) won’t wait for too long to officially launch the phone. Hopefully, a version of the device with dual-core processor will follow shortly…
