LG has officially announced that its slim and stylish Optimus Black phone is heading to Europe, followed by North America and Asia. The sexy smartphone Marin recently tried out comes with LG’s new NOVA display technology, which delivers higher levels of brightness and true blacks and whites for “ideal handset viewing,” the company says. Moreover, the power consumption is said to be reduced by up to 50% during general indoor use compared to conventional LCDs.

Unfortunately LG hasn’t unveiled specific launch date. It did say the Optimus Black attracted pre-orders from 56 network carriers in 50 different countries, so I guess it’s up to the carriers to decided when they’re going to start offering the smartphone.

Aside from the mentioned display, the Optimus Black also comes with TI’s OMAP3 1GHz processor, HSPA, Wi-Fi Direct, 5-megapixel camera on the back, 2-megapixel camera on the front, an array of sensors, 2GB of internal storage which can further be expanded with microSD cards.
