Motoroloa Droid X2 Officially Landing in Verizon Stores May 26

The Droid X2 has some big shoes to fill after the original Droid X, but it does bring a lot to the table: 4.3-inch 960 x 540 display (plus HDMI-out and DLNA media sharing over Wi-Fi b/g/n if’n you need a bigger screen), dual-core 1 GHz processor with 512 MB of RAM, and an 8 megapixel camera with flash that can take 720p video. Although it’s launching with Android 2.2, Motorola confirms the DX2 will be upgradeable to 2.3 Gingerbread. Speaking of software, the X2 will come preloaded with Swype for easy gesture-based typing, and Flash for those hungry for video in the native browser.
May 26 is also the day that Verizon will be launching the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play and the LG Revolution; sounds like it’ll be a busy day for retail staff. Anyone itching for an upgrade, or are 4G models like the Samsung Droid Charge catching your eye instead?
