Don’t you just love reading stories where small are successfully competing with the big, established companies. One such small guy is mobile navigation and location app publisher Navmii, which recently reached 2 million users, only 6 months after launching Navfree, its free navigation app for iPad and iPhone, and 12 months after the launch of Navmii GPS Live low-cost navigation apps.
According to the company, about 15,000 new users download their apps every day. Moreover, the Navmii and Navfree users have contributed more than 300,000 updates to OpenStreetMap.
Navmii free and low-cost navigation apps are available for Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Ireland, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the UK. Navfree apps, on the other hand, cover Australia, Austria, Germany, Ireland, New Zealand, Switzerland, UK and the USA. Moving forward, the plan is to launch a Europe-wide version of Navfree, updated version for the US, as well as conquer other platforms, namely Android.
