The Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency (PHEAA) is allowing folks whose loans are serviced by its student loan servicing operations, American Education Services and FedLoan Servicing, to make payments directly from their web-enabled mobile phones.

According to the PHEAA Board Chairman William Adolph, this is a logic step for the organization, considering that “today’s student loan borrowers are becoming increasingly sophisticated in their use of technology.” In that sense, this new system helps users “stay on track toward successful repayment.”

The new mobile websites provide both “simple presentation and easy user interaction,” giving borrowers a convenient and fast alternative to using PHEAA’s full-featured online services.

In order to take advantage of the new service, student loan borrowers can visit aesSuccess.org or MyFedLoan.org and check their account balance, the next payment amount and due date, and make a payment 24/7. When these two sites are accessed by mobile phones, users will be automatically directed to versions of sites that are optimized for mobile devices.
