Sprint, who is strongly opposed to the AT&T and T-Mobile merger, is capitalizing on the uncertainty of T-Mobile customers by luring them with early termination fee credit offers. According to a leaked ad, Sprint is offering current T-Mobile customers the opportunity to port their numbers to Sprint, and will credit them for the early termination fee.

CNNMoney reports that business customers will receive up to $175 credit and individuals can get up to $125 credit if they purchase smartphones. For those who want to switch to Sprint and decide to purchase feature phones, a $75 credit will be given. And in the event that the any of the new customers want to switch back to T-Mobile if the AT&T deal doesn’t get approved, Sprint will not charge an early termination fee for leaving. It sounds like a great deal for T-Mobile customers who have been yearning for Sprint service or smartphones exclusive to Sprint.

It’s also a great move for the nation’s third largest carrier since its CEO, Dan Hesse, has vocally opposed to the potential acquisition. It would stifle innovation and create a duopoly in the market, which is bad for consumers, Hesse says.

The offer will be good until June 23 for individuals, but for business customers the offer lasts until July 23. Anyone here thinking of jumping ship?
